One of Edgar Industries’ recent projects is a Department of Defense application which called for the fabrication of 600 parts per week of an aluminum pivot shaft. After receiving and analyzing the customer-supplied print and 2D CAD drawing, our technical staff chose the MAZAK NEXUS 250 Quick Turn CNC Turning Center to get the job done. With its live tooling and dual chuck, all turning, milling, drilling, and deburring could be handled in a single operation on this one machine. We were able to bar-feed the 6061 aluminum to further streamline operations. Our in-process quality control ensured that each part met with the required specifications.
